The Perfect Game For Forest To Bounce Back?

Last updated : 03 March 2014 By Forest

Wigan Athletic's impressive win at the City Ground may have marked the end of Nottingham Forest's automatic promotion ambitions but there remains a lot to play for in the final 13 games of the season and Billy Davies was quick to remind people that to be in 5th place at this stage despite a number of injury problems was still a good achievement.

The lengthy list for treatment forced Davies into fielding Jonathan Greening against the Latics. Now part of the club's coaching set-up, the midfielder told the official club website: "I know my career is coming towards the end but I just want to do my best for the team, manager and the coaches.

“The gaffer knows I’m there if he needs me and I’ll always give 100%.”

While a number of players are now away on international duty, Davies will hope that his injury list shrinks before a visit to South Yorkshire on Saturday for what looks on paper to be the perfect chance for the Reds to resume winning ways.

Barnsley lie at the foot of the Championship and were beaten 5-0 at Huddersfield on Saturday afternoon.
