Hart said: "I thought we were poor. I'm pleased with the result but not the performance.
"We were sloppy and even at 3-0 I didn't think we were particularly convincing.
"Brighton worked very hard and made life difficult for us. The fact that they came back strongly did not surprise me. We had them watched at Preston on Saturday and they did exactly the same thing but we should have coped with it better."
