Trio land December player gongs

Forest goalkeeper Camp was in outstanding form in December, conceding just a single goal to help his side record four wins and two draws from their six league fixtures. The keeper's run of clean sheets has been instrumental in Forest's rise up the table and they now head into the New Year with an automatic promotion place in the Championship firmly in their sights.

Also short-listed for the December award were Chris Burke of Cardiff City, Billy Sharp of Doncaster Rovers and Swansea City's Darren Pratley.

Beckford has been in tremendous goal-scoring form all season and netted four goals in six games for the League One leaders in December. His scoring streak began with a brace to help his side come from behind to secure all three points against Hartlepool United.

The frontman also scored twice in an away win at Stockport County as Leeds United ended the month with 14 points from a possible 18 to continue to set the pace at the top of League One.

Also short-listed for the December award were Deon Burton of Charlton Athletic, Wes Hoolahan of Norwich City and Southampton's Rickie Lambert.

Dawson netted a remarkable four goals in December, including a brace in the comprehensive 4-0 victory against promotion rivals Shrewsbury Town. His impressive form at the heart of Dale's backline also helped his side keep three clean sheets and concede just four goals during the month, resulting in Keith Hill's men securing five wins and a draw from their six league games to leave them sitting in top spot in League Two.

Also short-listed for the December award were Phil Edwards of Accrington Stanley, Phil Jeavons of Morecambe and Notts County's Lee Hughes.
