Warnock: Forest were hanging on

Criticising referee Andy D'Urso for missing what he called a 'blatant' penalty in the first half when Lewis McGugan clashed with Tommy Smith, Neil Warnock was nonetheless pleased with the R's display.

"We'll just keep playing the way we are and hope we can score a few more goals and penalty decisions go with us," he said.

"We've come here with two suspensions and a couple injured but we've had a go and tried to play the game the way it should be.

"Their keeper Lee Camp has made some fabulous saves and I think it says everything that Forest kept the ball at the end and were pleased to see the whistle go."

Home boss Billy Davies admitted the Reds got away with the Smith incident but also felt his side were denied at least one spot-kick.

In complete contrast to Warnock, Davies felt ' in the end I thought there was only one team that looked like winning the game in the second half. I thought we improved and probably deserved to win the match.'
