Nottingham Forest Mad: The Powerleague Team

Last updated : 06 February 2005 By Ashleigh Dybala

The newest feature to the site is the "Nottingham Forest Mad Football Club".
At Powerleague Nottingham, there is a 5-a-side football centre which attracts various ages and groups of people to come and play football.

We've been playing for over 3 years under various names but in the past year, we've become known as the 'Knights'. This season, we're chasing the division two championship after being relegated last year. We play usually on a friday night although sometimes we play on a thursday. It costs £16 for under 18's and you get 50 minutes of football per week. There are organised leagues with cups for the champions and for those unfortunate few who get relegated, you have to drop down a division.

When asked whats good about going to Powerleague, Leo Ricci, who has been playing at Powerleague the longest out of the whole team said "Not
much is good at playing at powerleague, the only good thing at powerleague is ME!!!" However one of my team-mates called Martin Carter, had a slightly more modest view. He said when asked what was good "to get some exercise every week, and for the joy of winning
". If you enjoy football and you dont mind losing your friday nights, head down to Powerleague.

So every single week, here on NFM, we'll be bringing you the league tables, the results and the gossip for the official 5-a-side team of Nottingham Forest Mad!
