Doncaster Rovers' final game at Belle Vue ended with a bang as they sent leaders Nottingham Forest tumbling to a second successive defeat.

Young full-back Theo Streete gave Rovers their fourth consecutive league win in a well-deserved 1-0 success.

An entertaining first half saw Doncaster shade the balance of play, with Sean O'Driscoll unlucky not to see his charges take a lead into the break.

Winger Jonathan Forte had their first opportunity after 13 minutes when, after picking up Paul Heffernan's through ball, he held off his marker before dragging a right-foot shot wide.

The pace of talented striker Nathan Tyson caused the Rovers defence problems all afternoon and it was the former Wycombe striker who carved Forest's first opportunity. He out-muscled Streete down the left before firing in a cross that just evaded strike partner Grant Holt.

With the game approaching the half-hour mark, Rovers were then denied two good opportunities within seconds.

Brian Stock found Heffernan whose first-time strike was pushed away by visiting keeper Paul Smith as far as James Coppinger who failed to slot home the rebound.

On 39 minutes the speedy Tyson again stormed down the left side picking out Holt at the near post, whose glancing touch shaved Ben Smith's left-hand post.

Tyson continued to cause havoc down the right in the second half and he again escaped three minutes after the restart but Holt and midfielder Nicky Southall both missed his low pull back.

Forest were then made to pay when Streete smashed home on the hour. After picking up the ball just inside the Forest half, the youngster let fly from 35 yards which somehow found its way past Smith into the back of the net.

Kris Commons nearly replied instantly when his crashing drive flashed by the post but Rovers were unlucky not to double their advantage when Smith smartly saved Adam Lockwood's header.

The last ten minutes saw Forest try and force an equaliser with Ben Smith called upon twice to keep them at bay, but Rovers were not to be denied as they ended Belle Vue's 84-year history on a high.
