After an opening 20 minutes without either side managing a shot on target Jack Lesterlooked certain to score, but Adam Drury got back to block his shot.

This was the only shot on target by either side in the first half hour but after CraigFleming had replaced Darren Kenton in the 31st minute Riccardo Scimeca brought a savefrom Robert Green with a fierce rising drive.

Darren Ward had to palm a cross shot from Phil Mulryne against his own cross bar before itwas cleared to safety and two minutes before the break Scimeca was inches away with afree-kick.

Eight minutes into the second half Scimeca brought a save from Green with a free-kickand Ward had to dive smartly to his left to keep out a shot from Gary Holt.

McVeigh's well-struck effort flew inches wide of the post as did a low drive from Drury onthe hour.

Mark Rivers replaced Mulryne and on-loan signing Nicky Southall came on for Neil Emblen.

David Johnson threatened to steal the three points in the 74th minute but Green forcedhim wide and the shot failed to find the target.

Southall volleyed over when David Nielson set him up from Steen Nedergaard's right-wingcross, but in the end a share of the spoils was about right on the night
