Forest brace for January approach for Gibbs-White

Nottingham Forest senior executives have reacted angrily on Tuesday following reports that Tottenham Hotspur are preparing a lucrative January transfer approach for attacking midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White.

The 26-year-old talisman signed a fresh long-term contract at the City Ground earlier this year, but Spurs remain determined to test Forest resolve.

Tottenham head coach Roberto De Zerbi has identified creative output as his squad primary deficiency, with Spurs failing to score across their previous two league outings against Everton and Bournemouth.

De Zerbi believes Gibbs-White is the ideal playmaker to link midfield with attack.

Forest have made it clear that Gibbs-White is not for sale under any circumstances during the winter trading period.

Having collected six points from their opening four matches under Oliver Glasner, including an impressive away victory at Aston Villa, Forest view their captain as indispensable to securing a top-half Premier League finish.
