Nottingham Forest are preparing to host German side Bayer Leverkusen at the City Ground on Wednesday night, as their pre season match schedule enters its final week.

New manager Oliver Glasner is eager to fine tune his squad ahed of what will be a challengin g season ahead.

Forest completed a demanding double-header in Italy over the weekend, suffering narrow 1-0 defeats against both Udinese and Barcelona in Udine on Saturday.

Glasner rotated his playing group across the two fixtures, granting vital match minutes to senior figures and fresh arrivals, including Austrian midfielder Xaver Schlager.

Forest remain active in the transfer market as they seek to finalise key additions before the transfer window closes in September.

The club are pushing to complete an agreement for Feyenoord defender Givairo Read to reinforce wide areas following the departure of several out of contract players earlier this summer.

The Tricky Trees will wrap up their pre-season preparations with a home match against French club Brest next Sunday.

Glasner's team will then turn their full attention to their Premier League opening fixture at home to Leeds United on Saturday 22 August.
