Saturday's 2-0 win at Southampton was hailed by manager Colin Calderwood, who told BBC Radio Nottingham: "The psychology of it really lifts everyone at the club.

"We gradually got better as the game went on and the goal just before half-time was a reward for the improvement.

"I thought we played well in the second-half. We passed it a lot better and looked a lot sharper."

Now just a point behind the Saints, Forest face two games in three days against fellow strugglers Doncaster Rovers and Norwich City and have a real chance to be out of the drop zone by the time 2009 rolls around.
