Majewski faces a three-match suspension following his straight red card in the 1-1 draw at Championship leaders QPR on Sunday.
Davies has long lamented his worry that injuries and suspensions could take their toll on his threadbare squad, and ultimately the club's promotion challenge.
"I have never had a lack of faith in this squad," he said. "What I am saying is that it is about fatigue and a lack of depth. What I have been saying is now coming true.
"Radi is now going to be out for three games, which is a massive blow. How many central midfield players have we got now? We have two left.
"This is not a moaning manager who is recommending what is required. It is a manager with experience who is suggesting what is necessary to get us through."
