Deadline day approaches

Forest boss Gary Megson has said he is keen to add to his numbers but missed out on West Bromwich Albion winger Lloyd Dyer yesterday when he joined relegation rivals Coventry on loan until the end of the season.

Coventry look set to be active in the market and have been linked with Sheffield United defender Danny Cullip this morning.

Financial worries at Cardiff mean they are unlikely to be bringing players in with manager Lennie Lawrence waiting to see if he is forced to offload any of his squad while Watford too are in limbo after yesterday's surprise sacking of boss Ray Lewington.

Gillingham boss Stan Ternent is set to extend the loan deals of Blackburn pair James McEveley and Jonathan Douglas who have played a part in their improved recent form.

Loan deals look the best option for Megson meanwhile although his injury and illness worries of the last week look set to clear up in time for the trip to Crewe a week on Saturday.
