The 27-year-old collapsed in the visitor's dressing-room at half-time of Tuesday night's League Cup tie which was subsequently abandoned.

"Clive was very seriously ill," said Leicester chief executive Tim Davies.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with Clive and his family." Clarke was in a stable condition in a cardiac unit at Nottingham's Queen's Medical Centre.

"I would like to say a big thank you to Nottingham Forest for dealing with the matter so fast."
