Gerrard injury blow for Reds

Gerrard will undergo a scan on the injury which forced him to fly home ahead of last night's 0-0 draw with Danish side Silkeborg in the first of the Reds pre-season games.

His place in the side was taken by trialist Rune Pedersen who has experience of playing in Italy with Modena as well as for Aarhus and FC Copenhagen in his homeland.
