Former Liverpool and Republic of Ireland midfielder Jason McAteer is set to line up against Nottingham Forest at the weekend and knows that his current side, still not safe from relegation, will be up against a Reds outfit full of confidence.

He told the Liverpool Daily Post: "Hopefully our crowd will turn out for us in numbers on Saturday. Whenever we've had a big-game atmosphere at Prenton Park this season we've risen to the occasion and produced a good performance.

"We did against Swansea, Southend and Huddersfield and on a few occasions last season. I believe we can do it again."

Manager Brian Little added: "It is the right sort of game for us. Everyone will have to be up for it. You've got to give Forest credit for their run. They have done ever so well."
