No Joey Barton but a tough test awaits

Amidst the takeover at the City Ground, Sean O'Driscoll's appointment as manager, new signings and the Olympic euphoria, the start of the Football League season has crept up somewhat but the Reds will need to be on their guard to avoid becoming the first major scalp of the newly-named Capital One Cup.

Fleetwood, who failed in an attempt to sign Joey Barton on loan this week, won the Blue Square Premier by some distance last season while also beating league sides Wycombe Wanderers and Yeovil in the FA Cup.

Boss Micky Mellon has added plenty of experience to his squad with the likes of Jon Parkin and Barry Nicholson moving to the seaside over the summer.

'Everyone will be expecting Forest to win,' Parkin told the Daily Mail's Football League blog. 'But it will be a good test and gauge for us to see whereabouts we're at.'

For Forest, Karl Darlow is set to make his debut between the sticks as Lee Camp is with the Northern Ireland squad while O'Driscoll has all of his summer signings available for the game.
