Reds Well Beaten In Wales

Forest's play-off hopes took a knock in today's game in Cardiff and in the end they were well beaten.

Rudy Gestede scored twice as Cardiff edged to within a single point of promotion to the Premier League with an easy win over Nottingham Forest.

Heidar Helguson scored the opener on 26 minutes, heading home Craig Bellamy's free-kick.

Forest were reduced to 10 men before the break when Darius Henderson was dismissed for a stray arm on Helguson.

Two second-half headers from Helguson's replacement Gestede secured the win for Malky Mackay's side.

Forest are now 7th, equal on points with Bolton Wanderers but with an inferior goal difference.
