Sunday night talks over Steve McClaren future

Sky Sports News reported that talks were taking place between McClaren and the Reds hierarchy while betting was suspended on him being the next Championship manager to leave his post.

There was no sign of the beleagured ex-England boss after three goals in thirteen minutes for Birmingham signalled yet another deflating defeat for his side.

The Daily Mail's man in the Midlands, Neil Moxley, tweeted at 7pm that chairman Nigel Doughty had confirmed to him that McClaren is staying at the club but that all questions would have to be addressed to the man himself.

More to come no doubt on this story.
