Tranmere test as Forest return home

Rovers go into the new campaign in high spirits after a succesful battle against relegation from League One last season under physio turned manager Les Parry who has since been confirmed as the permanent successor to John Barnes.

"His aim when he took over as manager was to keep the club in League One," said Tranmere chairman Peter Johnson.

"He was successful and I look forward to seeing the changes he'll make to the playing squad ahead of the new season."

Forest secured a 2-0 win on their last visit to Prenton Park in April 2008.

Billy Davies also sends a side to Mansfield on the same night.
