Breckin told the Evening Post: "Kelvin has been outstanding, I have not seen him have a bad game for us.
"He has done really well and is improving all the time."
Calderwood added of his signing from Preston: "He has a great desire, a good personality, he is a winner.
"We are pleased with him. He looks like a good signing, but I think we have made a few."
